Inspired by the Red Bull Drone, I’ve started working on my own build. Having build 40+ drones since 2015, I thought it would be relatively easy, but there’s been a few headaches so far.

Started with a fully 3D printed mockup with spare carbon Fiber arms I had lying around.

A bit of an unorthodox build. The core is all aluminum. This allowed me to weld on the vertical pieces and act as a heat sink for some of the electronics.
Current status of the project is in pieces. Initially the ESCs I got had a weird shudder above mid throttle. New ESCs solved the issue, but then the motors got to 140C+ and roasted the enamel pretty quickly, causing a few crashes. Currently running bench tests to see what motors I can use to get the heat under control.
